Where can I find the cost of replacing the stand/cabinet for my 1971 Singer sewing machine?
I have a Singer sewing machine from 1971 and the stand/cabinet for it was broken when I moved. I am needing to know the cost to replace or fix it for the moving company. Does anyone know where I can find this information. Thank you in Advance…
Call around to some of the sewing machine shops in your area and see if they might have a cabinet to fit your machine that’s been taken in on trade and they haven’t gotten around to trashing yet. Cabinet machines are very much out of style these days, and the usual thing to do is pull the machine out and trash the cabinet. Not all machines will fit all cabinets.
Otherwise, get an estimate from a woodworker who can do repairs. It’ll probably be pretty astronomical if it’s much of an issue.
Would you be happy with a modern cabinet, like a Koala? Would you be happy taking the machine out and using it like a portable and pocketing a cash settlement?
